New England Contra Dancing for the entire community.
Dances are usually held on the first Saturday of the month,
7:30-10:30pm. A free introductory workshop begins at 7:15pm.
Dances are held at the Church of Christ Uniting in Kingston
(directions below).
Newcomers and people of all ages, with or without a partner,
are welcome and can learn the steps the first night.
Contra dancing can be done with a walking step, so that even
dancers who are not confident can be easily included. The dancing
is energetic and involves mixing with the other dancers as each
couple performs a short routine with another couple before
progressing onto the next couple and repeating the sequence.
Please wear shoes with non-marking soles and heels
(and, please, no high heels!). Admission to the dance
is $8 for adults, $4 for children, and $20 for families.

I-81 to exit 170B, "PA-309 North".
PA-309, about 4.5 miles north to exit 4.
Merge left onto Rutter Avenue.
At 2nd right, turn onto East Bennett Street.
After one long block (about 0.3 miles), turn left onto Wyoming Avenue.
Continue on Wyoming (US-11), about 1.1 miles.
Turn right onto Market Street, church is on the left.
Parking on street,or in Church lot (entrance on Market, 1 house past church)(alternate entrance: pass church, turn left on Maple, watch for lot).
Entrance to hall is from the parking lot!

PA-309, ten miles to Dallas Shopping Center.
Bear right, follow PA-309 toward Tunkhannock.
After one more mile, turn right on Hildebrant Road (between signs for Dallas High School and M&T bank).
Go one half mile; the church hall is on the right (steeple is visible from the red light).

Use PA-118 to PA-415 and turn right; go 1 mile.
Turn left onto Center Hill Road, just after the Dallas Agway.

Take a right at the bottom of the hill onto White Haven Road.

At bottom of hill, about 3 miles past turnpike entrance, take a right onto White Haven Road.
Continue about 7 miles, pass under turnpike, take 1st right onto Carter Drive.
Hall is at 2nd stop sign.

I-476 to exit 95 (White Haven/Freeland).
I-80 to exit 273 (White Haven).
PA-940 (Church Street) north a small distance.
Turn right on Lehigh Street, it turns left and becomes Towanda Street.
Follow Towanda Street thru town, it becomes Middleburg Road and then, after crossing the RR tracks, Bear Creek Boulevard and other names.
After about 3 miles, just before crossing under I-476, turn left onto Carter (see above). |
